imagine YOU'RE an international Student…

In this project, I worked with international students to develop an interactive, meaningful and innovative design solution that stemmed from our interpretation of 'TRANSITION" within the system design stream. Through discussions, we ultimately decided on interpreting transition as place-shifting. We realised that repeated transitions were particularly challenging, as people have to constantly 'reset' their lifestyles without much support which could have a negative impact on their emotional wellbeing.

The target audience is International Students and Workers who frequently move. Adjusting to new surroundings and forming new relationships can often feel overwhelming.

Settlesync is an item-handling system that transforms moving from a stressful task into a connected, community-driven experience. It uses three main touchpoints: the Awa-y app, donation stations, and e-trolleys, to offer safe, simple ways to exchange and pass on items locally, turning relocation into an opportunity to connect and share with the community.
